Active family, Small space, No problems

Decorating Challenge/Opportunity:

Our customer was looking for a new dining table and chairs as well as a cabinet to double as a storage and display piece. Her room has dark hardwood floors and only 32” maximum space for the new cabinet.  With three very active young boys, she wants something that is durable and it needs to seat at least five then expand for more people. She is looking for something with a distressed black and wood grain combination to stand out on her floors.

Brymons Solution:

Our decorator showed the customer around the showroom and discovered more of the customer’s likes and dislikes. Then they went to the design center to browse even more possibilities. They focused on styles that offer a black and wood tone combination. Our customer found a Farmhouse style table and chairs with an “amaretto table top that will match the wood floors perfectly; and the onyx base will add contrast. She was thrilled with the straight clean lines and said: “…anything else would be too fancy for us.” The table is perfect for family and entertaining as it is 66” long and expands to 84” with a “butterfly” leaf.

Because of the limited space available for the cabinet, our decorator had to think more “outside the box.” She showed the customer items from the Home Office collection. The customer chose a black wooden two-drawer lateral file for the base and a wood-tone open hutch for the top. She is very creative and will install glass shelves, a can light and black painted bead-board on the back of the hutch to tie the piece to the new table and chairs.  What a great solution!
