When selecting fabrics for a room, don't be afraid to mix and match patterns. Just be sure to use the "Golden Rule" and stick with three colors in the pallette. You might start with a fabric in a large print that includes all the colors you desire, then play off that piece. You can add a small-scale stripe with two of the colors, then add a check that includes the third color. Or, if you dare...you could throw in that animal print you've always wanted to try. Just be sure it works with the color pallette you've chosen. Mixing different size patterns will add the depth and drama you could be looking for!
