Room balance is an important key to design. Placing the most heavy and visually intrusive items all along one wall is a common mistake and makes the room appear unbalanced. Your eye naturally goes to the heavy wall so mixing visually heavier and lighter items throughout the room makes for a more comfortable and appealing space.
