Mixing & matching fabrics. Can I?

It's perfectly fine to mix floral and striped fabrics and in fact, makes for a more interesting effect in any room. There has to be a commonality in the mix though and one way this can be achieved is thru choosing some of the same colors in the fabrics. If you feel your room has too many solid patterns, consider adding an area rug or pictures for the wall that has the needed activity in them. Always keep in mind, color coordination.
